A September Full of Love & Surprises!
Kayla and Justin had the most spectacular fall day for their wedding. We were coming out of fire season in Montana and our open land and been closed to fire danger leading up to their ceremony. Thankfully, weather cooperated and we were able to get up to Fire Fighter Lookout (despite a real bumpy, rutted, steep drive for the rental car) overlooking Hungry Horse Reservoir in the Flathead National Forest.
It was a beautiful September day with the colors changing in dramatic fashion (we even found a few late season huckleberries hanging on to summer). The views from the lookout were stunning, looking over the reservoir in one direction and the peaks of Glacier National Park in the other.
Kayla and Justin are best friends and partners in everything they do; working literally sun up to sun down running their own farm and training horses.
They were able to sneak away from their mind numbing busy schedules for an intimate elopement in Montana and were joined by Justin’s mom, Cindy and Kayla’s parents, Tina and Matt.
Kayla and Justin compliment each other in everything they do and their love, friendship and lighthearted nature was such a joy.
The best part of their ceremony came at the end, with photographs. Kayla was 5 months pregnant on their wedding day. She was stunning in a fitted dress and no one would have ever guessed she was pregnant; she had been training horses and keeping up her crazy schedule the whole time. We staged a photo with the parents looking over the reservoir and when they turned around, they were greeted with the great surprise of their grandchild on the way.
It was such an honor to officiate Kayla and Justin’s ceremony and great fun to be a part of surprising their parents with a grandchild. Best of luck to them and their sweet family!
